This is Not the End of Your Story
I see you.
I see you trying your hardest.
To persevere. To power through. To survive.
And yet the resilience isn’t enough because you still feel empty.
Life isn’t what you wanted or thought it would be.
This isn’t the end of your story.
You’re overextended. You’re touched out. Your brain is full. You’re at or beyond capacity. There is no margin.
Relationships both exhaust you and they are a necessary lifeline.
Support doesn’t fully satisfy when it is given and/or asking for it only adds to the burdens you carry.
This isn’t the end of your story.
This season of life feels overwhelming and all consuming. You find yourself longing for days in the future. It will be better when________.”
This season is exposing insecurities, dysfunctions, generational cycles that you long to break, and highlights all the areas you have yet to grow in.
This isn’t the end of your story.
Breaking from past cycles perpetuated by shame and guilt and embracing new ones of vulnerability and shame feel crippling and hopeless at times. This hard work is worth it.
Rest. Actual restorative rest is a theory rather than practice. Rest is what gives you energy to think clearly, embrace the new day with enthusiasm and delight, and engage life from a centered place rather than reacting to things as they come. It’s crucial and yet lacking.
Your mind races. Your heart pumps. You question yourself, your values, your worldview, and purpose, never feeling quite comfortable in your own skin.
This is not the end of your story.
This season, this moment, this day, this hour, this minute is sacred. You are enough. You deserve love- not because of what you do or don’t do but because of who you are. You can do this. Help is here. You’re not alone. Just because it is hard right now, doesn’t mean that is the way it will always be.
Breathe. Notice the breath filling and exiting your body. The body that has carried you through your best days and your hardest days and is still working hard to carry you through this one. Feel your feet on the ground. It may not feel like solid ground but it is holding you and supporting you, keeping you connected to the earth, nature, and this planet. You are a part of something bigger than yourself and yet the part you play in all of it is meaningful and essential. This day, this hour, this minute may just be the one that brings hope. Hope to make the move, take the step, or ease the pain.
Together, we’ve got this.
It is hard right now but this is not the end of your story.
